Background
In collaboration with stürmsfs, figureit developed a specialized quote calculator for steel beams. This tool is based on the core application of the quoting software steelit and will eventually become part of it.
Previously, the calculation of production and processing times for steel beams was done manually by stürmsfs. With the software from figureit, steel beam data can now be easily dragged and dropped into the system. With just a few clicks, a ready-to-use quote is generated within seconds. The bespoke interface to the SAP system retrieves the machine data and cost rates.
«Especially for large orders, we anticipate a time saving of 80 to 90 percent,» says Mathias Oehler from stürmsfs ag. «The prerequisite is that the data is correctly prepared by the customer. While not all customers are ready yet, more are moving into that direction.»

The tailored development and adjustment of the configurator was carried out in close collaboration with stürmsfs. Heiko Heidemann, Team Leader for Steel Construction at stürmsfs, values the cooperation.
