Background
Like many others, Excel spreadsheets formed the basis of offer calculations at BBlech AG in Balzers, Liechtenstein. In 2023, the decision was made to rethink the quotation process and its ERP integration. The goal was to increase the efficiency of the work preparation and achieve greater transparency. The quote calculation was to be integrated with a bidirectional interface to the ERP. Additionally, an upload feature for STEP files was desired.
Evaluation
An internet search led to figureit and their solution steelit. The demo version was more convincing than those of other providers and the software’s basic framework already included more features.

The project with figureit was completed within a few months. Currently, the final testing phase is underway. The go-live, including a parallel operation in the initial phase, is planned for March.
Goals for go-live
According to Managing Director Mario Wolfinger: «We expect steelit to significantly increase efficiency, cost transparency, and provide more precise and consistent quotes. We also anticipate easier optimization and adjustment of quotes. A decisive factor for a successful transition is the early involvement of employees who have worked with Excel for years.»
